Who is the primary renter?

The primary renter’s name will be listed first and will provide the payment information, whether it is credit card, check debit card or cash. The primary renter is solely responsible for the vehicle that is rented. Search for a rental car now.

What is the minimum age that you rent to?

How do you classify a local renter?

Local Renters are renters who are picking up their car from a car rental location that is within 65 miles of the residence listed on the renter’s driver’s license. Local renters are restricted to economy through full-size cars, minivans, and midsize SUVs. Local renters are not permitted to rent other car classes. Some of our locations limit mileage for local renters; please refer to the location policies for more information. Local renters must pay for the rental using a credit card. Renters without departing flights are not permitted to pay with debit cards.

What are my rental vehicle responsibilities?

Damage to a Rental Car:A person who rents a car from Advantage Rent A Car is responsible for the safe return of the rental vehicle in the same condition in which it was rented, except for normal wear and tear. Unless prohibited by state law, a renter may be held responsible for all damages to the rental vehicle, including loss of use, should the vehicle be damaged in an incident. This is the case regardless of fault. Whether or not you caused the accident, you may be asked to pay for the damage up to and including the total cost of replacing the vehicle in case of a total wreck or loss. The renter is responsible for checking the vehicle before departure from the rental facility and upon return to the rental facility. In the event that a rental vehicle has been involved in an incident, be sure that any estimated damage to the rental vehicle has been recorded properly before leaving the rental facility.
Rental Car Gasoline:A person who rents a vehicle from Advantage Rent A Car is responsible for returning the rental vehicle with the same amount of gasoline as was in the vehicle upon departure from the rental facility. The renter is responsible for checking the vehicle before departure from the rental facility and upon return to the rental facility. If the renter fails to return the vehicle with the proper level of fuel, a refueling charge needed to return the vehicle to its proper level will be charged to the renter in addition to the estimated rental charges.

Do I need insurance?

No, if you are renting from an Advantage Rent A Car location in the United States then you do not need to provide your own insurance. Most of our locations offer collision coverage and/or liability insurance for an additional daily fee, but these options are not mandatory and are simply offered for your convenience and peace-of-mind. If you are renting from an international location outside the U.S. then you might need to purchase or provide insurance; please reach out to the affiliate or refer to their local policies for more information.
